Mediterranean Light
Mojácar
A village bathed in the breeze and the light of the Mediterranean, which stands proud in the eastern Almería, with the charm of its white houses and flowery streets.
Mojácar is a village of fusion of cultures, and these are breathed in its environment, in the character of its people and in its constructions with Arabian airs. In addition to its Moorish past, it welcomed Phoenicians, Carthaginians and Romans. His Fiesta de Moros y Cristianos (Moors and Christians festival), in June, is a journey back in time. The town squares turn into moorish kabilas and Christian barracks, and the entire town is transformed and paraded with ornate, colorful and luxurious costumes of Arab, Christian or Goyesque inspiration.

It has been classified as one of the most beautiful towns in Spain. We can see it by walking through its cozy alleys and squares, through the old Jewish quarter, visiting the Moorish fountain or the city gate, memory in stone of its missing wall. Its horizons also attest to its charm. If we go up to the Mirador del Castillo, the highest point of the town, the blue Mediterranean floods us and we glimpse its beautiful beaches with crystal clear waters.
El Sombrerico, Bordenares, Las Granatillas, Cueva del Lobo, Marina de la Torre, Castillo de Macenas and El Descargador... some are virgin beaches, ideal for the loneliest, and others more touristy and equipped with services for the visitor, but all of them pure Mediterranean. Cozy land, benevolent climate, mountains, sea, visual fusion and fusion of aromas and flavors.
If you come to Mojácar, come to your place in Calima.
